KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 — FGV Holdings Bhd (FGV) will be introducing four new e-wallet application features starting next month for its migrant plantation workers, namely e-grievances, e-attendance, panic button and e-learning.
In a statement, group chief executive officer Datuk Haris Fadzilah Hassan said through e-grievances, migrant plantation workers will be able to voice their grievances at any time, and e-attendance allows workers to access information related to attendance and daily tasks.
Meanwhile, the panic button feature aims to enhance safety and enable the estate management to respond immediately in case of emergencies or accidents at the workplace.
Additionally, the e-learning feature allows workers to access the latest information on Socso’s contribution, health and medical benefits, employment contracts as well as occupational health and safety notifications, among others.
“Digitalised plantation management is one of FGV’s efforts in respecting the rights of migrant plantation workers,” Haris Fadzilah said.
He also pointed out that the group has implemented cashless salary payments in 95 per cent of its plantation operations in Peninsular Malaysia, involving 17,682 migrant plantation workers, adding that the initiative will be fully implemented by the end of this month.
“Meanwhile, 264 e-wallet registrations in Sarawak will be implemented for the salary payment for this month. As for Sabah, 10,925 registrations will be implemented simultaneously in early April 2021.
“This includes migrant plantation workers from FGV Plantations (M) Sdn Bhd, FGV Agri Services Sdn Bhd, Pontian United Plantations Bhd and Yapidmas Plantation Sdn Bhd,” he said.
