SHAH ALAM, March 12 — The most recent series of the free Covid-19 community screening organised by the state government has recorded 20 new positive cases, says Selcare Clinic manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir.
He said the registered cases were among 884 individuals screened at four highly populated and high-risk locations on Saturday Sunday.
“The screenings on March 6 were held at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Resak hall and Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) multipurpose hall in Seri Kembangan, while on March 7, the screenings were held at Dataran Otomobil at Section 15, Shah Alam, and at Section 2 multipurpose hall in Kota Damansara.
“The screening initiative managed to detect positive cases among the communities thus curbing the risk of transmission,” he told SelangorKini yesterday.
The community testing programme will continue at four other locations this weekend with tomorrow (March 13) at the MBSJ multipurpose hall in Bandar Bukit Puchong and Taman Batu Tiga in Subang Jaya, followed by Sunday (March 14) at MBSA Seroja Hall in Section 27 and MBSJ multipurpose hall in USJ 7.
The state government has allocated RM6 million to implement the free Covid-19 community screening throughout the state to curb the pandemic.
The programme targets participation from 50,000 people in high-density areas and those from low-income groups.
