Over 4,000 people undergo Selangor's free Covid-19 screening

SHAH ALAM, March 3 — A total of 4,352 individuals have gone for the free community screening programme as of February to curb the spread of Covid-19, says Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

Amirudin said the free testings were also administered to 894 senior citizens from 32 senior folks’ care centres.

“We will continue the measures and pay attention towards identifying those who are infected, conducting screenings and isolating them (carriers) aside from kicking-off vaccination programme,” he said on a Facebook post.

The Selangor government has allocated RM6 million to conduct free mass Covid-19 screenings within the communities across the state to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The initiative began last year and is expected to benefit 50,000 residents of Selangor with priority given to the high-risk and low-income groups as well as students.
