LUMUT, Feb 6 — Police have arrested a security guard and a gardener and confiscated several types of drugs amounting to nearly RM5,000 in two separate operations in Manjung district.
Manjung district police chief ACP Nor Omar Sappi said the 37-year-old security guard was nabbed in front of a house in Seri Manjung here at 6 pm on February 4.
He said upon inspection of the suspect’s bag, the police found 18 plastic packets believed to contain heroin weighing 49 grammes (g) and syabu weighing 4.5 g totalling RM2,920.
“Investigations revealed that he has six previous criminal and drug-related records and his urine test came back positive for methamphetamine,” he said in a statement here today.
Meanwhile yesterday, he said police arrested a gardener aged 35 at an oil palm plantation in Jalan Batu 12, Segari, here at 6 pm.
Nor Omar said police found heroin weighing 16 g and cannabis weighing 21 g with an estimated value of RM2,000 in his bag.
He said the suspect had two previous drug-related records and that his urine test came back positive for morphine.
Nor Omar said both the suspects have been remanded for seven days to assist investigations under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
