Nor Azmie appointed as new Selangor State Secretary

SHAH ALAM, Feb 3 — Dato’ Nor Azmie Diron is appointed as the new Selangor State Secretary replacing Dato’ Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya effective today.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari is confident that the appointment of Nor Azmie will contribute to the development of the state.

"The state government would like to wish Nor Azmie good luck and hope that he will continue to contribute his services, especially in realising the Selangor ‘Maju Bersama’ agenda," said Amirudin in a statement.

He also thanked Mohd Amin who completed his four years of service on February 2. The senior officer previously held the position as Selangor Land and Mines Department director.

“I also express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to Mohd Amin for his services and sacrifices throughout his tenure as Selangor State Secretary.

"His leadership and experience, especially in managing the recent Covid-19 pandemic, will always be remembered and embedded in the hearts and minds of all civil servants," he said.

Nor Azmie, who holds a Master's degree in Information Technology Management from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, began his career as an Administration and Diplomatic Officers (PTD) in 1995.

He has served in several ministries and agencies including the Rural and Regional Development Ministry, the Entrepreneur Development Ministry and the Prime Minister's Department.

Nor Azmie has experience managing several portfolios including entrepreneurship, finance and human resource management for 26 years in the civil service.

He also held several important positions in the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) before being appointed as the Selangor State Financial Officer in 2019.
