KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 — Filming activities are not allowed in any location in six states placed under the movement control order (MCO), according to the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas).
Finas chairman Zakaria Abdul Hamid said this was because the creative industry sector was not listed among the economic sectors allowed to operate during the MCO.
"Finas would like to inform all production companies that filming activities are not allowed in areas placed under the MCO, namely, Penang, Selangor, Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan), Melaka, Johor and Sabah," he said in a statement here, yesterday.
However, he said filming activities could carry on as usual in areas placed under the conditional MCO and recovery MCO.
"...with condition that they must adhere to all guidelines and standard operating procedures stipulated by the National Security Council comprising the protocols for prevention of disease and restrictions, health screening, cleaning and disinfection of premises, physical distancing and workers safety procedures, and emergency response," he said.
