Air Selangor: Water supply fully restored to 77 pct of affected areas

SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — A total of 664 or 77 per cent out of the 861 areas affected by unscheduled water disruption has been fully restored as of 6am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) in a statement today said it is continuing its efforts to resume water distribution in the remaining 197 affected areas.

Its corporate communications head Elina Baseri said water has been fully restored in Kuala Selangor, while the restoration rate in Petaling has reached 99 per cent.

“The restoration rate in Kuala Lumpur is recorded at 95.5 per cent, followed by Hulu Selangor (82.6 per cent), Klang/Shah Alam (61.8 per cent), Gombak (61.7 per cent), and Kuala Langat (50 per cent).

“Alternative water supply at the local service centre (PKS) and public taps are still available to facilitate consumers,” she said.

For more information on water supply visit the Air Selangor communication channels via the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter sites as well as Air Selangor website, www.airselangor.com.

The water supply disruption occurred when the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Rantau Panjang stopped operation at 11.30pm on Sunday while the WTP in Sungai Selangor Phase 1,2 and 3 followed at 1 am due to raw water pollution in Sungai Selangor.
