KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 — Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Muamalat) has confirmed that one of its employees at its headquarters at Menara Bumiputra has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and is now under the care of a government hospital.
Bank Muamalat said it has implemented a work-from-home and office rotation schedule (Team A and Team B) since the reinforcement of the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
“The employee, who tested positive for Covid-19, was on office rotation duty (Team A) when it was discovered that he had been infected.
“The transmission of the Covid-19 virus was not from Bank Muamalat,” it said in a statement, today.
As a precautionary measure, the bank said all co-workers, who have been in direct contact with the employee, have been asked to self-quarantine by staying at home for the next 14 days until given the appropriate medical clearance.
Through sanitization and cleaning procedures were carried out at Menara Bumiputera, and the affected floors will remain closed for 14 days, it added.
However, the Bank Muamalat headquarters would remain open for employees who need to be in the office.
