SHAH ALAM, Nov 23 — The Public Works Department (JKR) and Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) have been instructed to take immediate action in overcoming the recent flash flood problem in Kampung Pandan.
Selangor executive councillor for infrastructure and public amenities Izham Hashim said observation showed drains at the flooded area cannot cope with a large amount of rainwater.
“I went to Kampung Pandan with JKR Hulu Langat District engineer Mohd Shahril Mohd Said and MPAJ representatives to find out the cause of the floods that happened there recently.
"Some suggestions were made and its implementation will be refined for the benefit of the people," he said on Facebook yesterday.
On November 15, heavy rain caused flash floods in Kampung Pandan that flooded three houses.
