SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — Selangor will soon release an industry dialogue to recognise the contribution of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as encourage dialogues between the industry and the state administration.
State Investment, Industry and Commerce and Small and Medium Enterprise Committee chairman Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the dialogue features interview sessions with 10 industry captains in Selangor.
He said the first episode of the interview, titled “Impact of Covid-19 on Science and Technology in Malaysia” will premiere on October 20.
“The soon to be published video interviews cover a wide range of industries, namely e-commerce, retail, tourism, hotel industry, food and beverage, agriculture and fishery, film industry and logistics.
“The interview focuses on these Selangor SMEs’s success story, their post-Covid-19 pandemic recovery plans and how the state government’s SME friendly initiatives have supported them,” said Teng in his opening speech at the 5th Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention 2020 held virtually today.
Teng said the interviews would provide a communication platform for the industry to share their challenges and visions ahead.
“I hope that the interviews would bring all the industries and stakeholders closer together, especially SMEs, Chambers of Commerce, NGOs and the Selangor government,” he added.
The Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention is one of the three main components of the Virtual Selangor International Business Summit 2020, which began yesterday until October 17.
