SHAH ALAM, June 3 — Nine restaurants in Shah Alam were ordered by to immediately cease its operations after failing to comply with the standard operating procedure (SOP) during the ongoing conditional movement control order (CMCO), says the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA).
Its corporate and public communications head Shahrin Ahmad said 48 compounds were issued during the operation of the inspection on 74 eateries and two hawker stalls.
“Many of the premises have practised social distancing and provided the logbook for their customers to register themselves. But when the customers come in groups and sit together, the restaurant operators won’t say anything against it,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini yesterday.
Shahrin said some of the eateries have also failed to keep the premises clean, did not use the Selangor SELangkah contact tracing system, and ignore the social distancing rule.
The inspections had involved 117 enforcement officers with the cooperation of the Shah Alam District Police, following public complaints.
