Selangor sultan received RM44.6 million in business tithes

SHAH ALAM, May 13 — The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, received RM44.6 million in business tithes from 12 companies on behalf of the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) at a ceremony held at Istana Kayangan here today.

The companies included Tabung Haji (RM24.2 million), Central Sugars Refinery Sdn Bhd (RM5 million), Selangor State Development Corporation (RM2.66 million), Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (RM2.45 million), Worldwide Holdings Berhad Group (RM2 million), Ekuiti Nasional Berhad (RM1.7 million) and Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (RM1.52 million).

Other companies were Malaysian Allied Health Sciences Academy Sdn Bhd (RM1.32 million), Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (RM1.21 million), Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (RM1 million), Sime Darby Property Berhad (RM1 million) and Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (RM504,526).

The business tithes were for 2018, 2019 and 2020 financial years.

Also present at the ceremony was the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, LZS chairman Tan Sri Syed Anwar Syed Putra Jamalullail and LZS chief executive officer Saipolyazan M. Yusop attended the event.
