SHAH ALAM, May 5 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today had reminded the people to behave cautiously following the lift of several restrictions under the conditional movement control order (MCMO).
His Royal Highness said these are some of the new norms, which includes only leaving the home when necessary and to not gather in large groups such, including weddings and Raya open houses.
"Adhere to social distancing rules. You must always wear a mask when you are out and keep your general hygiene impeccable which includes always washing your hands or using hand sanitisers.
"The elderly and those who are feeling unwell are advised to stay at home," he said in a posting which was uploaded on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page today.
Sultan Sharafuddin also expressed his concern over Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations as he cautioned people to celebrate Hari Raya only with immediate family members and keep it simple without having to return back to their hometown.
"I pray that the situation will ease and we will win this fight against the pandemic. The community must stay strong and work together for us to succeed," he said.
The Selangor Ruler the measures taken under the movement control order (MCO) had seen the flattening of the Covid-19 curve in Selangor as well as a relative containment of the pandemic.
"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the frontliners on the tireless dedication and hard work that they have put in during these challenging and unprecedented times which ensures that the health systems are protected and able to cope.
"Thank you and well done to all the doctors, nurses, ancillary staff of all the hospitals in Selangor, policemen, firemen and Rela.
"We also appreciate the family members of the frontliners for their support and patience," he added.
