SHAH ALAM, March 30 — The residents of seven villages in Sungai Lui were advised to remain calm following the implementation of the enhanced movement control order (EMCO), which was enforced midnight, today.

Dusun Tua assemblyman Edry Faizal Eddy Yusof had reminded the people from Batu 21 to Batu 24 to adhere to the enhanced order in order to contain the Covid-19 outbreak.

“This is a serious matter and if the residents do not abide by the rule, they can get infected by Covid-19 as well.

“Residents who are not affected by the order should play their part by keep away from the area,” he said in a statement, yesterday.

Following the latest development, the Dusun Tua constituency office has ceased food supply distribution, which had begun on March 18, to the people affected by the EMCO in Sungai Lui.

“I am sure the authorities and Social Welfare Department will ensure that there would be sufficient food supply and basic necessities distributed to the affected communities,” he said.

The Federal government had yesterday announced the lockdown of seven villages in Hulu Langat effective from March 30 (today) to April 13.

This was following the 71 positive Covid-19 cases identified among 274 residents of the Maahad Tahfiz AnNabawiyyah school at Batu 23.
