Visitors of Selangor palaces undergo health screening

KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 — Three Selangor Royal palaces have enforced a body temperature check for all the guests entering the palace complexes as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19.

Comptroller of the Selangor Royal Household Datuk Sawaluddin Md Nor said that the three places in the state — Istana Alam Shah, Istana Bukit Kayangan and Istana Mestika — are also providing hand sanitiser to its visitors.

"Visitors and contractors on duty in the palace are required to go through the health screening.

"Face masks are also provided for the staff on duty throughout the movement control order (MCO) period," he said in a statement via the Selangor Royal Office official Facebook account today.

Meanwhile, Sawaluddin said all of the palace officers and staff have been tested negative for Covid-19 following a mandatory health check on March 9.

He added that the palace staff quarters in Kampung Seri Alam, Klang, is also under police surveillance.

This is following the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah’s decree that all of the palace workers must remain at home and adhere to the MCO.

“We want to ensure that all of the palace staff, especially those living in Kampung Seri Alam, stay at home and abide by the order,” he said.
