SHAH ALAM, March 25 — Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran has announced a short-term financial aid to essential workers who rely on public transport but would now use the taxi or Grab services.
This is following the Selangor state government's announcement on March 20 that has provided an allocation to all 56 state assemblymen in the state to use for community service.
"Today is the seventh day of the movement control order. I understand that the reduced hours of public transportation has affected some essential workers who rely on public transport.
"In this challenging situation, the front liners have to use other modes of transportation, such as e-hailing services, Grab, or Taxi.
“Therefore, I am very concerned about this and have initiated a RM 100 transport allowance for the front-liners who are working in essential services and have been using public transport to commute to work. If you are one of those, please reach out to us," he said in a statement yesterday.
Essential workers living and working in the Bukit Gasing constituency are eligible for the allowance.
Application for the scheme can be made by emailing a copy of the payslip, IC and relevant work documents to vivien@bukitgasing.my or help@bukitgasing.my.
