SHAH ALAM - Selangor is selected to host the Hawkers Carnival 2019 at the Central Zone level that will take place this October.
Exco of Entrepreneur Development, Rural Development, Village and Traditional Village, Rodziah Ismail said the carnival that is to be held in Shah Alam will bring together thousands of hawkers from the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor.
“It is expected that the carnival that will be organized by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Affairs will attract thousands of hawkers from the three states," said Rodziah.
“The carnival will include events such as the hawker convention that will discuss and propose issues and also the sales of booth businesses, ” she said.
Rodziah said this during the Dialogue Session on the Future of the Hawker and Small Traders in the Aspects of Selangor Micro Entrepreneur Development at the Bank Rakyat Tower here.
Rodziah said the carnival is open to all hawkers and it is not necessary for them to go through their own associations or organisations to join.
According to Rodziah, the government will also explain the latest policies besides providing new opportunities for traders at the carnival.
