SHAH ALAM, SEP 11: The second component of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS Summit) 2017 will be continued through the Selangor Asean Business Conference 2017, Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) today.
Officiated by Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, the second component features a 20 speaker panelist from Southeast Asia and beyond.
Mohamed Azmin said, the conference will further strengthen Selangor’s role as the investment destination main gateway in Southeast Asia.
“This meet will certainly strengthen the ties of Southeast Asian countries at a time when we are enhancing the regional trade network.
“This conference certainly provides a platform for a variety of bilateral discussions to widen the growing investment network in Southeast Asia," he said at the opening ceremony.
The countries in the region which are participating are Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Myanmar and Vietnam as well as representatives from local panelists including from China and United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Investment, Small & Medium Industries, Trade and Transport Exco, Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said in his opening speech that the second component of the comference is where Selangor is surveying the opportunity for big investment.
“We are looking at any of our strength to explore the manufacturing investment opportunities to meet the needs of ASEAN and international markets. These include meeting the demands of the F & B, automotive, aerospace and biotechnology industries with the confidence to penetrate the market, "he said
The first component of the conference focused on organising the Selangor Smart City & Future Commerce Convention 2017 network.
The State Government in collaboration with Invest Selangor organises the SIBS Summit 2017 held from September 7 to 17.
